About this trip

Extra night before the tour + Special pickup: This option will get you an extra night in your hotel before the tour starts and it also includes early pick up from the airport or train station when you arrive. You only need to purchase one of these options per room.
Room upgrades: There are several room upgrades with limited availability on a first come first serve basis. The differences from the standard room are listed next to each room. Aside from the differences listed, the rooms are similar. The price listed for the upgrade is for the whole tour.
Aix-en-Provence Self-guided tour extension:  Since some people like to stay in France a bit longer after the tour and see more of the South, we are offering a private transfer to Aix-en-Provence at the conclusion of your South of France tour. We will give you our self guided tour program and drive you to Aix-en-Provence and drop you off at your hotel. We recommend staying at the Aquabella Hotel and Spa or the Hotel Cezanne but there are many options and you are free to choose whichever hotel you like and how long to stay. When you decide to leave Aix there are a few options to continue your journey or make your return home. Aix-en-Provence has a train station and there is also another train station and an international airport in Marseille just a 30 minute taxi ride away. The self guided tour extension is per person. If you are two people in a booking you must select 2.

We just returned from France and thoroughly enjoyed our tour of Normandy with Christophe.  His knowledge and excitement for the region enhanced the tour. My husband, a big history buff, couldn’t be more pleased with the tour. I was surprised at how much history the region holds. And it was beautiful in early May!  The small group was perfect and made it easy to get acquainted with everyone. I highly recommend the Normandy tour !!!

Normandy 7 Day Tour May 4 - May 11, 2025

Top notch in every way. Just the right amount of time (7 days, including Mont Saint-Michel, Rouen and Giverny. Fabulous local guide steeped in history and local perspective and perfectly sized group (16). Very happy with accommodations and restaurant choices. We are very seasoned Traveller’s. This was a great pick for us.

What a fantastic trip.  The tour was well run, you can tell their passion about sharing the stories and life of their country with you.  Each of the tour guides were fantastic and the whole trip tied together wonderfully by Julia.  Highly recommend it!  The smaller sizes are lovely and there’s no replacement for the local experience.  Absolutely wonderful!

8 Day South of France Tour September 24 - October 2, 2024

This was an experience of a lifetime. Each excursion was interesting and spectacular. The food was amazing! Our guides, Isabell and Stephane were excellent, knowledgeable and so much fun. I would not hesitate to book another tour.

A truly wonderful time in the South of France! The people really made this trip - Isabelle and Stephane (our guide/drivers) were fantastic - such fun loving people generously sharing about French culture and history. Loved the French picnic and singalong. The specialist guides in each site were also excellent. The lunches and dinners provided were all of the highest quality (much more food than we needed). The hotel rooms and breakfast and location were not at the high standard of the rest of the package. Our fellow passengers really formed a lovely group. How lucky are we to have experienced this trip!

Signature 9 Day South of France Tour May 28th - June 6th, 2024

Our highest recommendation.  This trip is a perfect way to explore Southern France !  Isabell and Stephan were great hosts and each day was full, fun, and stress free.  The daily guides were pleasant and knowledgeable, adding greatly to the experience.  The experience was exactly as represented in the itinerary, and there were no surprise out of pocket costs.  The food was excellent.  There is a substantial amount of walking each day, so comfortable shoes are a must.

My husband and I really enjoyed our tour of Southern France with TripUSAFrance! The tour was well planned and full of delightful sights for us to visit. The hotel was very nice and near the beach. This tour FAR EXCEEDED our expectations. It was our first group tour and it was excellent across the board - accommodations, food/wine, great company, amazing transportation (driven Jean-Marc) and above all, our caring and informative guide Jonathan (who made the trip). This trip was absolutely fantastic! Very well organized, all the guides were knowledgeable, accommodations were lovely and restaurants picked by Julia were delicious. I have absolutely ZERO negatives to say about this trip!

It was such a joy to take this tour.  Well organized, wonderful sites, places that we would never be able to find on our own and great meals.  The restaurants were well vetted as to food, service and ambiance.  The special tour guides were all informative and helpful.  We felt safe with Stephane’s precise driving.  This tour is top notch with all the attention to details.  

We had a great time.  I can not imagine how it could have been better. Julia and Martin did a great job of keeping everything on schedule and interesting.  The histories of the region given by Martin was excellent. The Hotel in Bordeaux was great. It was situated close to restaurants and walking distance or Metro to the points of interest.  There were two excursions into French countryside to visit boutique wineries which were quite interesting. The visit to the Wine and Trade museum was very informative about the cabernet sauvignon and merlot grapes grown in region. An experiment in wine blending and tasting was unique: highly recommended. Then we went out by van along the Dordogne river to see cave art and visit unique French villages such as Sarlat-la-Caneda, La Roque-Gageac, and Rocamadour. Included were visits to Beynac Castle Josephine Baker's home, and a truffle farm.  The views from various castles and villages of the Dordogne river were beautiful. 

Fantastic tour of Normandy! Outstanding food, accommodations, and guide. Bayeux is now among my favorite French towns. The beaches of Normandy will always be emotional, but it is vital to have a guide who knows small details and hidden corners of the countryside. Jonathan was that and more (very funny dry English humor). We will rave about this trip to friends and family, urging them to book with TripUSAFrance.

Normandy 6 Day Tour April 24 - 30, 2024

We had visited several places in Normandy in the past, but didn’t experience it quite like this trip. Staying in Bayeux gave us the opportunity to see so much more of Normandy culture and history. Jonathan Scott was a superb guide. Our fellow travelers were enjoyable and interesting, the accommodation was terrific.  we were kept quite busy, learned a lot, and still have time to relax and saver our time.

We had a wonderful time. It was important to us to be in a small group and we wanted an immersive experience in Normandy.  Our guide, Jonathan Crowe, is as an Englishman living in Normandy. He has a history degree and was extremely knowledgeable about WWII and told great stories about the D Day invasion and had wonderful information at all of our visited sites. We would definitely travel with this company again.  Judy and Grady 

The trip to the Normandy region was fantastic; it was great to see all of the preparation for the 80th D-Day anniversary.  We loved staying in Bayeux as a home base for the day tours. The hotel was fantastic- the grounds were beautiful and the rooms were extremely comfortable.  We travel( pack )  pretty light and would normally plan to do laundry during  a 10-day trip. Our recommendation would be to have hotel laundry service available or have a laundry pick-up available.  Jonathan was a fantastic tour guide and made sure we were well informed about the region, the places we were visiting, etc.. Peter did a great job keeping everything organized and running smoothly! We will refer family and friends to Trip USA France and consider other tours in the future.  Thanks for a great adventure!

This tour was fabulous in every aspect and offered such wide variety of experiences.  Our tour guides, Julia and Martin were the best. Both are so  knowledgible and insightful in conveying the subtleties and  flavor of the Franch culture.  Our schedule was full each day, but never rushed or pressured.  Each experience from the wineries to the truffle farm seemed tailored and personalized just for us.  Each meal was a delicious work of art and all of our accomodations were outstanding.  I would highly recommend TripUSAFrance as the ultimate way to  experience France as a local.  They are unique from other tour companies in that they are able to let you experience true French culture as a local rather than simply offering the cookie cutter tourist version of France.  I look for to taking more tours with TripUSAFrance in the future!


We enjoyed our trip very much, especially the Bayeux and Normandy portions. The guide was extremely knowledgeable in the history of these 2 areas and made the history interesting. Our accommodations were excellent and the food delicious. All in all, great value for the money.

Normandy 6 Day Tour June 26 - July 2, 2023

Our first experience with TRIPSUSAFRANCE was terrific. We especially enjoyed being based in a huge hotel room and not having to re-pack every day or two. Fabulous food, and the group size was perfect. Our guide Jonathan was delightful.

Wonderful local guide was very knowledgeable and personable.  Learned a great deal about the history of Normandy, it’s people and the country of France in general.  Beautiful scenery,  excellent food and fond memories of new friendships. 

Top ratings  for every aspect of this trip! The hotel, the town, our tour guides, the variety of excursions - everything was well-planned and all went as smoothly as possible. I will recommend this trip to anyone who is thinking of coming to southern France.

We had a fantastic time! Our guides were truly outstanding and the schedule could not have been more perfect. Every destination was a delight. Even the weather and our fellow travelers were terrific. I have no complaints!

We had a great time with Stephane and Isabelle. We enjoyed the activities and great lunches.  Almost too much food, but very nice restaurants that added to the experiences.  Learned a great deal of history and “must-see” places.  We enjoyed the special tours of the bull farm, Roquefort cheese, and the oyster farm.  
The typical barbecue was not the best meal.  Meat was overdone.
Thankfully we had a good group of people to enjoy on the long drives.  Stephane is a great driver and a special person with many talents.  Isabelle certainly kept us well informed with her talks.

This tour of southern France was absolutely wonderful! A huge thank you to Isabelle and Stephan for making this a very special experience every day of our trip.  There is so much that I could say - but I will be brief and tell anyone that is thinking of taking this trip - DO IT!  The towns we visited were well chosen - quaint, historical and lovely.  The daily group restaurant meals were fantastic.  Very French and always delicious.  Our hotel for the trip was very nice and in a great location for our daily excursions.  The local guides filled us with their knowledge of each place we visited.  We were all impressed with how well run the tours were, a testament to great planning by Julia and everyone at Trip USA France.  We feel so lucky to have had this experience with so many wonderful people to help us get to know and enjoy France and it's people.  Thanks for all the good times!   

It would be hard to find anything to criticize about this trip.  Everything was better than we anticipated.  Stephan and Isabelle were fun and knowledgeable.  It was apparent that a lot of time and energy went into the planning of this trip.  We went to places that were off the beaten path and experienced a bit of French life that would not have been possible with a larger group.  And we made new friends!  Fourteen is a perfect size for a group tour.

Had a great time.  The food was great, Jonathon was fantastic and so was Vincent.  The only issue I had was the farewell dinner.  The restaurant was not ready for us and after along day maybe should be a farewell lunch instead.

Best trip ever!  
I don't think that there are words of praise superlative enough in the English language to describe the wonderful experiences we had on this trip.  It was magnifique!  We have traveled extensively for many years and have had many excellent trips, but this one surpassed them all.  
Owners Jerome and Katy at Hotel les Coquilles welcomed us warmly and created an atmosphere that was casual and relaxed.  Rooms were spacious and clean, and the many options at breakfast were fresh and generous. 
Julia and her father Stephane were the perfect hosts, guides and drivers.  Julia's mom prepared a delicious dinner for the group which we all enjoyed.  We felt like we were members of the family, but we were treated like royalty.  We even learned how to play Pétanque!
Yes, we visitied famous sites like The Pont du Gard, Avignon's Palais des Papes and Arles' Roman Amphitheater, but each day held a secret surprise including a tour and tasting at an Oyster Farm, lunch at the Roquefort Cheese Caves where we were the only Americans in the restaurant, a visit to a vermouth distillery, and a fabulous afternoon and barbecue at a ranch in the Camargue.  These were once-in-a-lifetime experiences and we are so grateful to Julia and her family for sharing their beautiful part of the world with us.

We had an excellent trip.  Our guide was amazing and was so well prepared with pix and stories about the area.  The accommodations were just right, located almost in the center of Normandy.  St Micheal was beyond belief.  A hidden jewel for those of us who had no idea.  Our bus driver was top notch.  A great driver who knew alternate routes as we did avert an accident coming back to Paris.this is a must do trip. 

The tour is a great experience. Many of the sites visited are off the beaten path and varied.  All the guides were wonderful; very knowledgeable and easy to understand. The hotel was comfortable; a perfect location, within easy walking distance for restaurants, bakery or grocery store. The included lunches and dinners were delicious. There were choices for every taste or diet restriction and often large portions. Julia and Stephano were very personable and after a few days it felt like we had known them forever. Very gracious and accomodating. If looking for a unique, small group experience I would highly recommend you give USA/France a try.

Julie and her parents made us feel like family. The accommodations were very good and the hotel staff was extra attentive. The tours were very informative and immersive into the Provance culture and customs. We have traveled extensively and were looking for an excellent land based tour with a single hotel as base (no daily unpacking and packing of bags at different hotels) and with immersive experience in a region of France, and this was it!! It was better than expected, and what made it extra memorable was the personal attentions from Julia and her family!

We highly recommend this trip!  It was great to check into the hotel, unpack our bags and spend the next nine days exploring the area with a true local family.  Julia was highly organized, and everything ran smoothly.  Even when the weather forced a change to the schedule, it was seamless to us.  If you want to explore the Occitanie/Languedoc region, this is a great way to do it.  We were exposed to small historic towns, beautiful sites, two vineyards, and much more.  We saw how vermouth is made, oysters are harvested and how bulls are humanly treated while being trained by French cowboys to run the Course Camarguaise.   We enjoyed the small group of 14 that traveled the area in two comfortable vans.  We got to know each other well and made lasting friends with both the guests and our hosts.  If you are looking for something other than your typical tour, look no further.  You can't go wrong!

Outstanding!  Every day was a new adventure and we saw many many things that we would never have seen on our own.  Julia and Isabelle were tremendous.  There was sufficient free time to occasionally explore on our own.  We loved Palavas and our hotel;  nice breakfasts and the beach town has plenty of excellent restaurants close by for reasonable prices.  Epic trip for us.

We enjoyed this tour very much. Julia and Isabel were great tour guides. We signed up because the places to visit were all places we wanted to see. The best was the Camargue ranch, but several others were also very special. We especially liked staying in one hotel and doing day trips. The drive times were usually less than an hour and the hotel was in a wonderful location. The provided meals were excellent, especially the orange cake baked by Julia's mother! The local guides were very good and people were all friendly and helpful. We also enjoyed the time with Julia's father Stephan who joked around with us and played guitar and led us in several French and English songs. I have only two caveats: First, it helps immensely to get around on your own when you are not with Julia if you speak French. Fortunately my wife is fluent, so we did okay.  Second, if you are mobility impaired you may not be able to enjoy the walking tours of several places. Julia was as accommodating as possible, but she can not take you some places in the van. You must be able to walk several hundred meters up and down hills on cobble-stoned streets to tour inside some of the towns. That said, there is still much to enjoy including special places that require only limited walking with rest stops such as the Roquefort cheese caves. And did I say that we really like Julia!

Great vacation package. Well informed local guides, varied excursions and comfortable accommodations.

This was terrific!  We looked forward to each day, as it was different from the day before.  It was wonderful to be able to see so much of the South of France and not have to unpack and repack every single day.  The small group experience was fantastic.  We highly recommend.

Signature 9 Day South of France Tour Sept 27th - Oct 6th, 2022

The tour of southern France with TripUSAFrance was one of the best travel experiences I have ever had.   I have taken many trips to Europe but always avoided tours.   This was my first.  But it was more like traveling with a large group of friends (13 of us) because the owner and tour guide (Julia) and her parents went out of their way to create a highly personalized experience.

Our base town of Palavas-Les-Flots was a picturesque and easily walkable fishing village on the Mediterranean.   Shops, cafes and restaurants lined the canals traversing the town, just a few blocks from our hotel.  So there was plenty to do when we had downtime…

We saw more amazing sites in 9 days than I could ever have done on my own … and yet the tour did not feel rushed.  The outdoor scenery in this part of France was visually stunning, particularly the mountain views from medieval hilltop villages like Les Baux and St. Guilhem-Le-Desert, as well as the gorgeous river valley surrounding the Pont de Gard.   

Among the many highlights was the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Carcassone, the largest medieval fortress remaining in Europe today.  It still houses a small city.  We spent an entire day here, enjoying a fascinating (and funny) tour led by an expert guide, eating a leisurely group lunch, and having loads of fun shopping for unique gifts and memorabilia.  

At a local winery one day, Julia’s mother prepared exquisite delicacies — such as mini quiches and tiny croissants of cheese and meats —to create a gourmet picnic for the group.  After lunch, Julia’s father treated us to French and American songs on his guitar, with written lyrics passed out to the group so we could all sing along.  We were also treated to  a winery tour and tasting, after which we played four fiercely competitive games of Petangue.… although I have no idea who won.  😂 🤣

Great fun for all … and an example of the uniquely personalized nature of this tour.  Definitely a five-star experience.




      While researching an itinerary for a trip to southern France, I happened upon the TripUSAFrance site.It sounded too good to be true so I called the company. All my questions were thoroughly answered and I was reassured by the fact that they had repeat customers. Nothing for me to do but book the travel to and from Montpellier and enjoy the anticipation of the trip. We took a chance and the trip far exceeded our expectations.
     From our pick up at the airport to our drop off at the train station, Julia and her father Stephane anticipated our every need.
     Hôtel les Coquilles in Palavas was charming and comfortable. Our hosts Kathi and Jerome were delightful and very helpful. We could see the Mediterranean from our balcony and enjoyed walks along the beach and through town.
     Each day the van rides to our destinations provided us an opportunity to observe the countryside and get to know our fellow travelers who were also appreciative of the small tour experience.
     We enjoyed all of our explorations of the region from Roman ruins to small hillside villages to larger cities. The activities that we would not have included had we planned our own itinerary made the trip special. We loved the trip to the Carmargue ranch and the introduction to the bulls, the Roquefort cave and the lumières show in the quarry, the very unique  restaurants, and most especially the picnic at the winery with food prepared by Cathy, Julia’s mother and entertainment by Stephane. Meeting their friend, playing pétanque, and touring the vineyard was icing on the cake.
     Julia is a great guide who gives just enough history and background to give you appreciation of the area but not overwhelm you with facts. We now can’t imagine a tour without Julia and her family. We definitely will plan on one of her other tours in France.
